Redacting documents is now quick and easy with DocEndorse.com. You can erase all selected traces of text or metadata from a document in a simple 3-step process. All that is needed is for the user to upload a document or documents to our platform, then redact the document through a drag and drop interface, and finally preview and or save changes. You can then download, print, preview, or share the document with one click.
Upload: Our platform facilitates direct upload, and the secure transfer of documents from third party cloud providers such a OneDrive, Google Drive or DropBox. All documents uploaded to our platform, and all communications done on our platform are encrypted which heightens the security of the documents on our system.
Once uploaded, the document can be selected and then redacted. Simply open the selected document in our document editor and begin the redaction process. Our document editor comes with a number of tools that allow you to preview and redact documents quickly and easily. Simply drag and drop the redaction tool onto your document and move it to the words you want to redact. You can drag and drop multiple boxes, duplicate any box that is currently on the page, or you can map a box to a specific text and have that text redacted throughout the document. It is important to noted that the redact tool can also be resized according to your preference.
You can double click on each box to bring up its redaction options. The redaction options allow you to preview what the redactions will look like in the real document. If you are comfortable with the redaction you can click “redact text” - which will apply redactions for that particular box. Please note that you must apply all redaction boxes for them to take effect in the document – when the redaction box is applied it will turn black.
You do not have to apply every redaction box individually. After positioning all the boxes you need, you can apply all of them at once. This is done by simply clicking on the magic pen tool which will open up a menu that allows you to apply all redact boxes on the document in one go.
If you are interested in redacting the metadata, you simply select the information tool in task bar at the top. This will bring up a context menu that allows you to view and redact all the metadata in the document. You can then select the ones you want to erase from the document.
After you have redacted all areas of the document, you can then save and exit the document.
Upon exiting the document, our platform will then permanently erase all the areas of the document you highlighted, including the metadata if indicated. The final version of the document will then show up in the list of redacted documents.
From here you can view the file and its metadata to check if everything was done according your specification. You can also delete the file, or share it via email. The file will also show up in your document table where can also do futher actions if needed.
