Product Overview

1.1 Overview

The DocEndorse Model Context Protocol (MCP) server connects compatible AI assistants to DocEndorse's document execution and electronic signature (e-signature) capabilities.

It enables users to manage supported document and e-signature operations through natural language interactions with their AI assistant, helping streamline document execution and signature management.

The MCP server provides access to capabilities such as searching for templates and documents, initiating signature requests, tracking signature status, and managing follow-up actions.

For advanced document workflows, the MCP server integrates with the DocEndorse AI Agent, which handles all template creation and document preparation tasks. The AI Agent provides advanced document processing capabilities, including editable field detection, signatory role identification, and signature field configuration.

Together, the DocEndorse MCP server and AI Agent enable users to interact with DocEndorse's document execution and e-signature capabilities through a compatible AI assistant.

1.2 Key Capabilities

The DocEndorse MCP server supports the following document and e-signature operations, subject to the capabilities enabled for the connected account:

  • Template management: Search for existing templates and initiate template creation through the DocEndorse AI Agent.
  • Document management: Search for documents and retrieve relevant document information.
  • Document preparation: Prepare documents for signature through the DocEndorse AI Agent, including editable field detection and signatory role configuration.
  • Electronic signatures: Initiate and manage supported e-signature requests.
  • Signature tracking: Retrieve the current status of documents and their associated signature requests.
  • Reminders and follow-ups: Send reminders to signatories with outstanding signature requests.
  • Signature request management: Resend existing e-signature requests when necessary.

1.3 Integration with the DocEndorse AI Agent

The DocEndorse AI Agent complements the MCP server by handling advanced document workflows that require document analysis and interactive preparation.

All template creation and document preparation tasks are handled by the DocEndorse AI Agent. These tasks are not performed directly by the MCP server.

The AI Agent supports document preparation by:

  • Reviewing documents and identifying relevant content.
  • Detecting editable fields that require information.
  • Identifying signatory roles and the parties involved in the signing process.
  • Identifying and configuring signature fields.
  • Presenting detected fields and signatory roles for user review.
  • Allowing users to modify, add, or replace fields and signatory roles as needed.

This integration allows the MCP server to provide access to DocEndorse capabilities through an AI assistant while the AI Agent performs the advanced processing required for template creation and document preparation.
