Example Prompts

You can use natural language to ask your AI assistant to perform document and e-signature tasks through DocEndorse. Depending on your request, the assistant may ask for additional information, help you locate a document or template, check signature progress, or initiate a workflow with the DocEndorse AI Agent.

The following examples illustrate common requests and what to expect.

5.1 Send a Document for Signature

Example prompt

Help me send this contract to John Brown (example@docendorse.com) for him to sign via email.

What happens next

  1. The assistant gathers the required information. It may ask for the document, a request title, a custom message, or other details needed to send the contract.
  2. You provide the document. If it is already stored in DocEndorse, the assistant can search for it. Otherwise, you may be able to upload it through your AI assistant or directly through the DocEndorse AI Agent.
  3. The assistant initiates the workflow. Once the required information is available, it starts the e-signature workflow.
  4. You continue with the DocEndorse AI Agent. If the request is successful, the assistant provides a temporary link to hand the workflow over to the DocEndorse AI Agent, where you can continue the process.

5.2 Check Whether a Document Has Been Signed

Example prompt

Check whether the contract I sent yesterday has been signed.

What happens next

  1. The assistant searches your sent e-signature requests for relevant matches.
  2. If multiple requests could match, it asks you to identify the correct one.
  3. The assistant retrieves the request's current status.
  4. It explains whether the contract has been signed or whether further action may be required.

5.3 Send a Reminder to a Signatory

Example prompt

Could you follow up with John about the contract I sent to him yesterday?

What happens next

  1. The assistant searches your sent e-signature requests to identify the relevant contract.
  2. If more than one request matches, it asks you to confirm which contract you mean.
  3. The assistant checks the recipients associated with the request to identify John.
  4. Once the correct request and recipient have been identified, the assistant sends John a reminder.

5.4 Check a Document's Status and Next Steps

Example prompt

Retrieve the current status of the “Rental Agreement” and tell me what needs to happen next.

What happens next

  1. The assistant searches your sent e-signature requests for the Rental Agreement.
  2. If multiple requests match, it asks you to select the correct one.
  3. The assistant retrieves the request's current status.
  4. It summarizes the status and explains any next steps indicated by the available information.

5.5 Use an Existing Template to Send a Document for Completion

Example prompt

Use the Standard NDA template and send the contract to Ricky Richards for him to complete.

What happens next

  1. The assistant locates the template. It searches DocEndorse for the Standard NDA template.
  2. You confirm the correct template if needed. If multiple templates match, the assistant asks you to select the appropriate one.
  3. The assistant gathers any missing details. For example, it may ask for Ricky's email address or other information required to prepare the request.
  4. The assistant initiates the workflow. Once the necessary details are available, it hands the workflow over to the DocEndorse AI Agent.
  5. The AI Agent handles document preparation. It guides you through the relevant preparation steps before the document proceeds through the e-signature workflow.

5.6 Tips for Writing Effective Prompts

You can use your own wording when making requests. To help the assistant identify the right document and action, try to include:

  • The task: For example, send a document for signature, check its status, or send a reminder.
  • The document or template: Include its name or another detail that helps identify it.
  • The recipient: Provide the recipient's name and, where needed, their email address or phone number.
  • Relevant timing: For example, mention when a request was sent if you want to find it among your previous requests.

If the assistant needs more information or finds multiple possible matches, it may ask follow-up questions before proceeding.
